I absolutely love this book. I accidentally read it first, even though it's the second in the series, but I fell in love with Xaphan and Katie. A grumpy, abstinent demon with jealousy issues teaming up with a sexy psycho killer to do the Devil's dirty work... A match made in Hell!
Ms. Langlais is a master wordsmith, weaving humor into every line of her story while keeping tension levels high. The sex content is high, but I found that it really adds depth to their relationship and his struggle over how to react to Katie. I love how Ms. Langlais smoothly worked in each of their back stories while never digressing or losing sight of the main plot. This woman has her own throne in the Pantheon of Writers! I highly recommend this book, and any others in the series!
Welcome to Hell where the rules are always changing, the ash is constantly raining, and Lucifer is watching, waiting to steal your soul...
With a giggle and an outrageous mouth - perfect for things other than talking - Katie comes flying into Xaphan's life, upsetting centuries of self-inflicted misery. How can he stay true to the one he lost when a bubbly psycho, with mismatched eyes, keeps consuming his thoughts - and awakening his desire?
So she was a tad bit nuts, Katie's insanity came in handy as the Devil's favorite problem solver. But killing's not on the menu when a dragon goes missing, and worse, Lucifer teams her up with Hell's grumpiest demon. His rejection of her advances only makes her more determined to seduce him. And despite her violent reputation, a part of her is oddly tempted to let him live.
Warning:This story centers around a grumpy demon holding onto an ancient
vow and a perky psycho (with killer tendencies) who is determined to
make him snap. There's cursing, melt-your-screen hotness, messed up
religious tropes and snort out loud fun. If you already know you're
going to Hell, then dive on in.

A conversation with a stranger changes Amelia Hamilton's life forever. When she learns her grandfather faked his own death, normalcy slips from Amelia's grasp. To make matters worse, he is coming for her in less than seven days. What she hasn't determined is why.
Amelia's grandfather, Marius Benedict, once headed The Physician Coalition, an elite group of doctors who threw the Hippocratic Oath out the window. Years ago, they used a low-risk medical research study as a front for their experiments. Without their consent, innocents were injected with JackRabbit7, a hazardous substance used to alter their DNA. The victims were left with less-than-desirable super-human powers or excruciating death. Years after he disbanded the group, Marius has a new plan and is reforming The Coalition.
Max, a mysterious stranger from the Insurance Agency, offers to help keep Amelia safe. He introduces The Agency as an underground government organization that contains and eliminates those who intend to harm the world. To protect The Agency, the truth of their activities are concealed and replaced with sugar-coated stories in the media.
Over the course of the next week, Amelia has to accept the truth and learn who can be trusted. At midnight on her 23rd birthday, a contract between The Coalition and The Insurance Agency will expire, giving Marius full rein to approach his granddaughter and finish the project he started with her so many years ago.
